🚨 Alert (LEVEL 10)
District Proposes 19.6% Property Tax Hike on Median Homeowner
📅 August 31, 2026
The Troy ISD board is voting on a new budget and tax rate. While the proposed rate of $0.8164 is only slightly higher than last year’s $0.8074, soaring property appraisals mean the tax bill for the median homeowner will jump from $2,203 to $2,635—a $432 annual increase.
Response

PACK THE ROOM: This meeting includes a public hearing on the tax rate. Show up on August 31st to speak. Contact the Troy ISD Board (see the Official Agenda link for contact details): ‘A 19.6% tax bill increase is unsustainable for Troy families. I urge you to adopt the no-new-revenue tax rate and find savings in the budget.’

💰 Impact: $432 Annual Tax Increase (Median Home)
