⚠️ Warning (LEVEL 8)
District-Wide Student Surveys Harvest Sensitive Data
📅 September 8, 2026
Multiple Campus Improvement Plans (Item 5.A) confirm the district’s widespread use of “Panorama Student Surveys” to measure subjective metrics like “Sense of Belonging” and “School Connectedness.” These surveys collect sensitive, non-academic data from students, raising significant privacy concerns for parents. This data is often used to justify new social-emotional learning (SEL) programs and staff positions on the taxpayer’s dime.
Response

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: This is a discussion item, not a vote. Use public comment to ask the board: ‘What specific data is Panorama collecting from our children, who has access to it, and how can parents opt their children out? Please provide a copy of the survey questions and the district’s contract with Panorama Education.’ Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) to voice your concerns.
