The school board is proposing a new property tax rate of $0.9179, which they advertise as a “2% percent decrease.” However, this lower rate could still result in a higher tax bill for homeowners if property appraisals have increased, a fact the district omits by not publishing the no-new-revenue rate.

District Endorses Candidate for Lobbying Group Board
The minutes from the August 12 meeting, scheduled for approval, show the board voted to endorse a candidate for the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors. This action uses the district’s official power to participate in the governance of a lobbying organization that frequently works against taxpayer interests in Austin.
