πŸ“ Drive to El Segundo Unified Office   πŸ“… Monday, September 14, 2026 to Calendar
πŸ“„ View Official Agenda
Heads up! Our parent watchdogs have scanned the upcoming agenda for El Segundo Unified. We found 2 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.
NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 6)
Board Caps Total Time for Public Comment
πŸ“… Scheduled Action
The board’s bylaws limit total public comment time to 30 minutes for agenda items and only 15 minutes for all other topics. This rule can be used to shut down debate and silence a large number of concerned parents on a controversial issue before everyone has a chance to speak.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND YOUR RIGHT TO BE HEARD: Contact the El Segundo Unified Board of Education (see the Official Agenda link for contact details). ‘Board Bylaw 9323’s arbitrary time limits silence the community you serve. We demand this policy be revised to ensure every parent who shows up is allowed to speak.’

πŸ’° Taxpayer Impact: Silencing Parent Voices
MONITOR (LEVEL 5)
Vague ‘School Climate’ Workshop Planned
πŸ“… Scheduled Action
The board is holding a special workshop to discuss ‘Governance: School Climate’ and ‘Board Protocols.’ These vague terms are often used as cover to introduce controversial Social Emotional Learning (SEL), DEI, or student surveillance programs outside of a regular, well-attended board meeting.
Recommended Action Plan

ATTEND & REPORT: This is a ‘Special Called’ workshop where the agenda for the year is often set. Attend the meeting on Sept 14th to listen and take notes. Contact the Board (see the Official Agenda link): ‘What specific policies and metrics fall under the ‘School Climate’ discussion in Item 2.A? Parents deserve to know if this is a backdoor for SEL or DEI programs.’
