ALERT (LEVEL 3)
Board to Discuss Student Discipline in Secret Session
📅 October 19, 2026
The Board will enter a closed session to discuss confidential records and a student discipline case, as noted in Item III. While student privacy is a valid reason for a closed session, this practice limits public oversight and prevents parents from knowing what is being discussed behind closed doors.
Recommended Action Plan

MONITOR: Closed sessions for student discipline are often legally required. However, it’s important to track how frequently the Board uses them for other ‘confidential’ matters. Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and ask the Board President to provide a general summary of topics discussed in the closed session, without revealing confidential details, upon returning to open session.
