Undisclosed Board ‘Training’ Session
📅 October 22, 2026
The board is holding a ‘Team of Eight’ training session without disclosing the provider or the cost. These sessions are often conducted by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), an organization that lobbies the state legislature against taxpayer interests using local tax dollars.
Response

ASK WHO’S TRAINING THE BOARD: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link): ‘Regarding Item 4, who is the provider for the Team of Eight training, what is the total cost to the taxpayer, and will you commit to not using taxpayer funds for organizations that lobby against parents and taxpayers?’

💰 Impact: Potential Lobbying Fees

Vague Library Material Approval
📅 October 22, 2026
The board is scheduled to approve the acquisition of new library materials without providing a public list of the books or resources being considered. This lack of transparency prevents parents and taxpayers from reviewing materials for age-appropriateness or ideological content before they are purchased with tax dollars.
Response

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the Troy ISD board before the meeting. Ask for a public list of all materials under consideration in Item 3 to be posted online before any vote is taken. ‘Please publish the full list of library materials being considered for purchase so parents can review them before the board votes.’

💰 Impact: Undisclosed Content & Cost
