NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
Secret ‘Safety’ Meeting Excludes Public
📅 October 20, 2026
The Board is holding a closed-door ‘Shade Meeting’ to discuss ‘Safety and Security,’ citing a state law that allows them to hide details about the district’s security system. While protecting tactical security plans is valid, this format prevents parents from knowing if other topics, like student surveillance or new discipline policies, are being discussed and decided without any public input.
Recommended Action Plan

Email the School Board (contact info on the district website): ‘Regarding the closed-door ‘Shade Meeting’ on October 20, I demand that the Board release a public summary of all non-exempt topics discussed and any decisions made. Parents have a right to know about any new policies affecting student safety and discipline that are not strictly confidential security system details.’
