Public Comment Policy Requires Advance Registration
The board’s public comment procedure requires individuals to register by 3:30 PM on the day of the meeting. This rule, referenced under the ‘Public Comment’ section and Board Policy 903, prevents members of the public from deciding to speak based on events that occur during the meeting itself.
Policy Use
DOCUMENT: The public comment rules under item 4 require pre-registration by 3:30 PM on the day of the meeting, limiting public participation. Document this as an example of a governance practice that can reduce accountability and add it to the state tracker for public comment policies.
