Federal Mandates for ‘Targeted’ Schools
📅 October 26, 2026
The board is set to approve ‘Local Improvement Plans’ for two schools flagged under federal accountability rules. These plans, required by the state, can come with federal strings that introduce new programs or data collection requirements that local taxpayers must fund permanently.
Response

DEMAND THE DETAILS: Contact the Board (see the Official Agenda link for details): ‘Regarding Consent Item 8.A.10, please publish the full Local Improvement Plans for Creekside Intermediate and North Pointe Elementary before the vote. Taxpayers deserve to see what federal mandates are being accepted on their behalf.’

💰 Impact: Unfunded Federal Mandates
WATCH (LEVEL 3)
District Participation in TASB Lobbying Event
📅 October 26, 2026
The district is recognizing students who exhibited art at the ‘TASA/TASB Exhibition.’ The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) is a taxpayer-funded lobbying group that frequently opposes property tax relief and parental rights legislation in Austin.
Response

MONITOR: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link for details): ‘Regarding Item 4.D, I am pleased to see students recognized, but concerned about the district’s participation in an event hosted by TASB, a lobby group that works against taxpayer interests. Does the district pay membership dues to TASB?’

💰 Impact: Normalizing Lobbyist Influence
