MONITOR (LEVEL 5)
District to Spend $450k on Buses with ‘Student Tracking System’
📅 October 26, 2026
The Board is voting to approve a revised $450,458.43 purchase for two new school buses under Item VI.D. The new quote includes an unspecified ‘student tracking system,’ creating a new database of your child’s movements without a public discussion of data privacy.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the district office to get the email addresses for Superintendent Corrie Sands and the Board of Trustees. Email them with the subject ‘Questions on Item VI.D – Student Tracking System’: ‘Before the Board approves the $450,458 bus purchase, parents demand a public presentation on the ‘student tracking system.’ We need to see the full data privacy policy, including who owns our children’s location data, who can access it, and how it will be protected before you vote.’
