District Implements Restrictive Public Comment Rules
The board’s public forum rules require speakers to register by 5 p.m. the day before the meeting, limit speakers to three minutes, and prohibit them from speaking more than once in a thirty-day period. These rules can limit public accountability and parent participation in board governance.
Policy Use
WATCH: Document the district’s public comment policy under Item II as a potential example of a governance structure that limits parental input. No immediate action required unless a change is proposed.
