Secret Meeting to Hire Superintendent Search Firm

The Board is holding a closed-door ‘Executive Session’ to decide on a firm to lead the search for the next superintendent, followed by an immediate public vote. This process prevents parents from having any input on the criteria used to find the district’s next leader, which could lock in an ideological agenda for years to come.
Recommended Action Plan

Demand the Board reveal the names of the superintendent search firms under consideration and their selection criteria before any vote. Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and show up to the meeting to insist that Item 4.A, ‘Action on Items discussed in Executive Session,’ not be a rubber stamp on a secret decision. ‘Parents have a right to know who is being hired to find our district’s next leader and what values they represent.’
