Board Proposes to Give Away Oversight of Key Parent Committee

Under Resolution 292-26, the Board is voting to allow the District Accountability Committee (DAC) to approve its own new members for the rest of the school year without Board approval. This action removes a critical layer of oversight by elected officials, potentially allowing the DAC to become a self-selecting group that is no longer accountable to parents.
Recommended Action Plan

PACK THE ROOM: The Board must not give away its power to oversee the District Accountability Committee. Email the Board at schoolboard@asd20.org and sign up for public comment for the Sept. 8 meeting. Demand they STRIKE the second clause from Resolution 292-26 and retain their duty to approve all committee members. ‘We elected you to represent us, not an unelected committee. Vote NO on delegating your oversight authority.’
