Village Politics Threaten New School, Could Trigger Tax Hike

The district’s fully-funded plan for a new Early Learning Center has been blocked by the Village of Antioch’s Planning and Zoning Board. The district’s alternative options could cost taxpayers millions more, cause years of delays, and likely require a future tax-hike referendum to complete.

SUPPORT THE DISTRICT’S PLAN: The Village of Antioch is blocking the most cost-effective plan for the new Early Learning Center, which could force a multi-million dollar cost increase onto taxpayers. Urge the Village Board to approve the school district’s original proposal at their October 14, 2026 meeting to protect taxpayers. Contact the Village of Antioch (details on their website) and tell them to approve the special use permit for the Tiffany Road site.
