NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 6)
Board to Hold Secret Negotiations on Teacher Contracts
📅 October 22, 2026
The Board is holding a special meeting to go into a closed-door ‘executive session’ for union contract negotiations. While legal, these secret negotiations can lock in policies on teacher training, curriculum, and work rules for years, completely outside of public view and parental input.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: While the negotiation itself is private, the final contract is public. Contact the Board of Education (see the Official Agenda link for contact details): ‘Parents demand that any proposed union contract be made public for at least 30 days for review and comment before any final vote is taken. We will not accept secret deals that impact our children’s education.’
