Board to Appoint New Member; Six of Eight Candidates Push Ideology
The board will interview and appoint a new member to fill a vacancy. A review of the eight candidate applications reveals a sharp divide. At least six candidates are career educators or activists who explicitly prioritize expanding “Social Emotional” programs, school-based “mental health” services, “restorative practices,” and other ideological initiatives. This appointment will set the district’s direction for years.
Recommended Action Plan
PACK THE ROOM: This appointment will shape the board for years. Review the candidate applications attached to the agenda (pages 4-46). Show up to support a candidate who prioritizes academics and parental rights, and to oppose those pushing SEL and ‘whole child’ ideologies. Contact the Board (see the Official Agenda link for details): ‘We need a board member who represents parents, not the education bureaucracy. Please appoint a candidate committed to academic excellence and fiscal responsibility.’
