District to Review Secret Policy Changes from CSBA
The board is reviewing a batch of new and revised district policies recommended by the California School Boards Association (CSBA) under Item IX.A. The actual text of these policies has not been made public in the agenda, preventing parental review before they are brought for a vote at the next meeting.
Recommended Action Plan
DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link for contact info). ‘Regarding Item IX.A, I demand that all proposed new and revised board policies be posted publicly online for parental review immediately, and well in advance of any future vote. Parents will not accept secret policy changes.’
π° Impact: Parental Review Blocked

Vague Data-Sharing Contracts Hidden on Consent Agenda
The board plans to approve a bundle of contracts (Item V.H.) with a single vote, including data-sharing agreements with the Yolo County Office of Education. One key contract, for ‘Data Systems and Services,’ was not included in the agenda packet, preventing parents from seeing what student data will be shared and with whom.
Recommended Action Plan
DEMAND A SEPARATE VOTE: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link for contact info). ‘Pull Item V.H. from the Consent Agenda for a full discussion and a separate roll-call vote. Parents deserve to know exactly what is in the ‘Data Systems and Services MOU’ before you approve it.’
π° Impact: Your Child’s Data

Science Camp Trip Includes Perpetual Rights to Your Child’s Image
The contract for the 6th-grade science camp (Item VII.B) contains a clause granting the camp vendor ‘perpetual and irrevocable rights’ to use your child’s name, image, and likeness in any format for any purpose, without further consent or compensation. This signs away your rights to control how your child’s image is used commercially or otherwise.
Recommended Action Plan
DEMAND MODIFICATION: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link for contact info). ‘Before approving the science camp contract under Item VII.B, the Board must strike or modify Section 15. Parents must be given a clear, limited, opt-in consent for any use of their child’s image, not a perpetual rights grab.’
π° Impact: Your Child’s Likeness
