HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 9)
Admin Recommends Denying New Parent-Led Charter School
📅 October 27, 2026
The district administration is officially recommending the Board vote NO on the application for the new Pearl Creek STEAM Charter School, a K-6 school created by local parents and educators. The administration claims the new school will cost too much and disrupt existing schools, potentially increasing class sizes for everyone else. This is a direct threat to school choice and the right of parents to create new educational options for their children.
Recommended Action Plan

PACK THE ROOM: The administration is trying to kill a new parent-led charter school under Agenda Item B.1. Email the School Board (contact info on the district website) and attend the work session on October 27th. Your message: ‘I support parental choice. Vote to APPROVE the Pearl Creek STEAM Charter School application and let Fairbanks families decide what’s best for their kids, not the central office.’
