NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
Sheriff’s Office Partnership to Bring SEL into Schools
πŸ“… October 27, 2026
The district is entering a partnership with the Sheriff’s ‘Council on the Status of Men and Boys’ to mentor ‘at-risk’ students. The program curriculum focuses on SEL topics like ’emotional management,’ ‘conflict resolution,’ and ‘positive decision-making,’ bringing social-emotional programming into schools through an outside group.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: This is on the Consent Agenda. Email the School Board (contact info on the district website): ‘Pull Item 12.01 from the Consent Agenda for a full discussion. Parents must be the primary guides of their children’s emotional and social development, not government programs.’

πŸ’° Impact: Classroom SEL Programming
NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 6)
$564k Federal Grant with Ideological Strings
πŸ“… October 27, 2026
The board is accepting a $564,019 federal Perkins V grant for Career and Technical Education. The grant application commits the district to promoting ‘equity,’ addressing performance gaps between racial groups, and pushing students into ‘non-traditional fields,’ which is social engineering, not career training.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: This is on the Consent Agenda. Email the School Board (contact info on the district website): ‘I demand Item 11.01 be pulled from the Consent Agenda for a separate discussion and vote. Taxpayers deserve to know what ideological commitments are attached to this $564,019 federal grant before you accept it.’

πŸ’° Impact: $564,019.00 (Federal Strings Attached)

Good moves worth showing up to support so they stick.
Major Win (LEVEL 9)
WIN: New Policy Boosts Rights for Parents of ESE Students
πŸ“… December 8, 2026
The board is advertising amendments to Policy 2460 for Exceptional Student Education that would create a huge win for transparency and parental rights. The new language requires the district to notify parents in writing within 10 days if their child’s legally-mandated services are missed and gives parents the right to access service provider logs.
How to Lock It In

SECURE THE WIN: Show up to the December 8th public hearing to support this policy. Email the School Board (contact info on the district website) before the October 27th meeting: ‘Thank you for strengthening parental rights in Policy 2460. I fully support the proposed amendments in Item 19.01 and urge you to vote YES to advertise them for public hearing.’
