NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
Public Comment Time Limited to 20 Minutes Per Item
📅 October 26, 2026
The board’s policy, stated in item 5, limits total public comment on any single agenda item to just 20 minutes. This means if as few as seven parents sign up to speak for their allotted three minutes on a controversial topic, the rest could be silenced before they get their turn.
Recommended Action Plan

This is a standing rule, not a new vote, but it’s critical to challenge. During the public comment period, demand the Board commit to waiving the 20-minute total time limit on controversial issues to ensure every parent who shows up gets to speak. Ask for a public commitment to not silence parents.
