District Considers Earlier School Start Date for 2027-28
📅 October 26, 2026
The district is discussing an ‘Early Start’ calendar for the 2027-2028 school year, which would begin classes earlier in August. This major shift to the family calendar is being proposed to better align with AP testing schedules and for budget savings.
Recommended Action Plan

Email the Muskego-Norway School Board (see the district website for contact info) before the meeting: ‘Regarding Item 3.C, before any decision is made on an early start calendar for 2027-28, the district must conduct a formal survey of all parents to gauge support and understand the impact on family summer schedules, childcare, and vacations.’
