NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)

Vague Policy Bundle Hides Changes to ‘Controversial Issues’ and ‘Student Rights’

📅 October 20, 2026

The board is set for a final vote on a large bundle of policy updates under Item 7.1. Hidden inside are policies on ‘Teaching About Controversial Issues’ (6:80) and ‘Student Rights and Responsibilities’ (7:130), which could be used to introduce radical ideologies or allow the school to act without parental consent. The full text of these changes has not been included in the public agenda for parents to review before the vote.

Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: The Board must not vote on Item 7.1 until the full text of all proposed policy changes, especially 6:80, 7:130, and 2:230, are posted publicly for parental review. Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and demand they ‘Post the full text of the PRESS Plus #122 policies online immediately and delay the vote until the next meeting so parents can review them.’
