๐Ÿ“ Drive to San Gabriel Valley Regio Office   ๐Ÿ“… Thursday, October 22, 2026 to Calendar
๐Ÿ“„ View Official Agenda
Heads up! We have scanned the upcoming agenda for San Gabriel Valley Regional Occupational Program. We found 3 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.
HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 8)
Massive Policy Overhaul Lacks Transparency
๐Ÿ“… October 22, 2026
The board is conducting a ‘first reading’ of dozens of new, revised, and deleted policies under Action Item 12.A.2, but the actual text of these policies is not included in the agenda packet. This list includes critical policies like BP 5020 ‘Parent Rights and Responsibilities,’ BP 5022 ‘Student and Family Privacy Rights,’ and BP 5145.6 ‘Parent/Guardian Notification.’ Hiding these changes in a simple list prevents parents from seeing what rights are being altered or removed.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND A DELAY: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and speak at the meeting: ‘The Board must postpone the vote on Action Item 12.A.2. The full text of all proposed policy changes must be made public with adequate time for parental review before any ‘first reading’ is approved. We will not accept a blind vote on our rights.’

๐Ÿ’ฐ Impact: Reduced Parental Oversight
NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 6)
District to Share Student Data with State College System
๐Ÿ“… October 22, 2026
Under Consent Item 11.B.2, the board is set to approve a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to share ‘specified student data’ with the California Community Colleges Chancellorโ€™s Office. This agreement creates a pipeline of your child’s data from the K-12 system to the state’s higher education bureaucracy. Parents have a right to know what data is being shared and for what purpose before it leaves the district.
Recommended Action Plan

Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link): ‘Pull Consent Item 11.B.2 for a separate vote. Parents deserve a public discussion about what specific student data is being shared with the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office and for what purpose.’

๐Ÿ’ฐ Impact: Your Child’s Data
MONITOR (LEVEL 5)
District Approves Student Data Sharing for Club Advisors
๐Ÿ“… October 22, 2026
The district is approving an agreement for Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) advisors that requires them to provide ‘individual-level data’ on students to ‘local, state, and federal stakeholders.’ This includes student demographics, course data, and discipline records. Parents need to know exactly what personal information about their children is being shared and with which government agencies.
Recommended Action Plan

Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link): ‘Regarding Consent Item 11.B.1, I demand to know which specific ‘local, state, and federal stakeholders’ will receive my child’s individual-level data. The Board must not approve this data sharing without full parental transparency and an opt-out process.’

๐Ÿ’ฐ Impact: Your Child’s Privacy
