District Uses ‘Lone Finalist’ Loophole to Hire Superintendent

At an early 7:00 AM meeting, the board will use the ‘lone finalist’ provision in state law to name a single candidate for Superintendent. This process shields all other applicants from public view, preventing taxpayers from comparing candidates or having meaningful input on the district’s most powerful employee.

The ‘lone finalist’ process is designed to limit public input. Contact the Collinsville ISD board (see the Official Agenda link for contact info) and demand they host a public forum for the community to meet and question the finalist named in Item IV.A *before* the final hiring vote in 21 days.
