⚠️ Warning (LEVEL 7)
Board to Appoint New Trustee, Bypassing Voters
📅 Scheduled Action
The Board of Trustees will interview candidates in a closed session and then vote to appoint a new member to fill the Place 4 vacancy. While state law permits this, it allows the sitting board to hand-pick a new member, bypassing a special election and denying voters the right to choose their own representative.
Response

Contact the Board of Trustees (see the Official Agenda link for contact details): ‘Regarding Item VII.B, I urge you to reject the appointment process and instead call a special election for the Place 4 vacancy. The voters, not the sitting board members, should choose their representative.’
